Welcome to Tuscany Photography Day
Alfredo Falvo will take you to the most fascinating corners of Val d'Orcia
Join me during one of my daily photography workshops in the heart of Val d'Orcia. Every day of the week, every time different topics ranging from wine cellars to sheep milking to landscapes. I will take you to the most photogenic spots of the Val d’Orcia but I will also give you the possibility to see what farmers and artisans do in this unique environment. Depending on the workshop you choose you will visit either a traditional winery or a cheese producer, a Chianina cow breeding farm or beautiful Italian gardens. At the same time you will master your photographic skills and take your vision to a different level while meeting new friends who share your same passion, photography.
I was born in Chianciano Terme and when I was in my teens I used to ride my bike around Val d’Orcia every day. When I grew up I started travelling and discovered my love for photography so I moved to New York and studied at the International Center of Photography. While there I also did three months internship at Magnum, in the archive department. Then I moved back to Italy and started my collaboration with Contrasto photo agency. I have always been attracted by different cultures and photography has given me the chance to develop this curiosity, allowing me to travel around the world and knowing incredible people. I have been working many times in Africa with UNICEF Italy and my stories have been published in The Australian Photojournalist, Vanity Fair, El Pays Semanal, Sport Week and many other magazines and have been included in photography festivals such as ‘Fotonoviembre’ Biennial of Photography, Tenerife, and ‘Visa pour l’Image’, Perpignan, France. In 2006 my first book, Lost Angels, won first prize in the book category at the International Photography Award. Now I am back in Tuscany and in addition to working on assignment with Contrasto I run these photography workshops. They are great fun and a chance to meet more wonderful people while taking pictures of this wonderful land.
My work as a photojournalist can be seen on my personal website www.alfredofalvo.com
Daily and customized photography workshops
Below are displayed the seven daily workshops and the customized one, click on the images to see each workshop in detail. This is the best way to learn photography: visiting some of the most beautiful and off the beaten track locations in the Val d'Orcia area . Otherwise, you can apply for a two-hour workshop in Montepulciano. The latter will give you all the knowledge you need to feel comfortable with taking pictures in daylight conditions, regardless of your current photography level.
The photography workshops
Photography workshops are held every day of the week and the number of participants goes from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 8.
Not only landscapes
My idea for these photography workshops emerged as I am a native of the area and I know the people who contributed to make it special.
