Daily and customized photography workshops

Join me during one of my daily photography workshops in the heart of the Orcia Valley, every day of the week, every time different photographic opportunities ranging from wine cellars, to sheep milking, to landscapes. You will have access to the most photogenic spots of the Orcia Valley but you will also have the possibility to see what farmers and artisans do in this unique environment. Depending on the workshop you choose you will visit either a traditional winery or a cheese producer, a Chianina cow breeding farm or beautiful Italian gardens. At the same time you will master your photographic skills and take your vision to a different level while meeting new friends who share your same passion.

"Alfredo Falvo will take you to the most fascinating corners of the Orcia Valley"

Below are displayed the seven daily workshops and the customized one, click on the image to see each workshop in detail. This is the best way to learn photography: visiting some of the most beautiful and off the beaten track locations of the area. Otherwise, you can apply for a two-hour workshop in Montepulciano. The latter will give you all the knowledge you need to feel comfortable with taking pictures in daylight conditions, regardless of your current photography level.

Not only landscapes

My idea for these photography workshops emerged as I am a native of the area and I know the people who contributed to make it special. Taking pictures of landscapes here is very fulfilling as it is one of the most photogenic areas of Italy but having the chance to photograph the people who live and work here is something that will make your experience unique. At the same time you will learn to use your camera in different situations as taking a photo of a landscape requires different skills than taking a picture of a farmer milking his sheep. The light is different, the framing is different, the subject is different. Due to my background as a storyteller and reportage photographer these workshops reflect my experience and you will go back home not only with landscape photography, but with little stories that will show through your images.I would suggest you to take one of my workshops at the beginning of your holiday so that you will have the chance to practice what you learnt on the following days.

What you will learn

Here is a list of some of the technical and aeshtetic aspects of photography we will go through during the day.

Tuscany Photography Day sponsored by 84.5mm camera filters

Camera filters are a great tool for landscape photographers. When the sun rises or sets it often happens that the sky is much brighter than the landscape. This is when a graduated filter is essential. It helps to darken the sky - so it evoids loosing details in the highlights - without altering the landscape below. With the help of an adaptor ring and a filter carrier these filters can adapt to any lens on the market. It would be great if you could bring with you a filter for your next workshop or, if you wish, you could enquire with me and I wll provide one for you. On the other hand, a Solid Neutral Density filter could be very useful to darken the whole image of a few stops. This is great when looking for long exposure images.
